I am talking to my immigration attorney right now to get all paperwork filed concurrently.
My attorney say's EAD's are generally approved within 90 days. Will that be before my I-140 is approve or doesn't that matter?

Arrived 2000-February
1st Labor - 2003 - Company A (RIR)
2nd Labor - 2004 - Company B (RIR) (no one knows where it went)
3rd Labor - 2006 - Company B (PERM)
Managed to get a seat in 07-2007 bus
Still sleeping in the bus. Don't know when I reach the destination.
Even if life ends before the journey completes, the corpse will continue the travel until it gets the GC.
(not sure if AC-21s are applicable for corpses)

I hear you and for most part agree with you that USCIS - However bad they may seem - is still one of the best run government agencies...
No need for you to trash another country to make your point... We are all foreigners here and know what happens in rest of the world...
Chill... and BTW - USCIS does not give you a green card for sucking up... as you said there is a system and a process in place in US our Karm bhoomi...

In fact, there is a special immigration program "only for Australians" that allow me and my dependents to work and live in Australia indefinitely. That was signed in to law by the President last year, if you didn't know about that. I guess you got me wrong. Australia and America have good relationships as you know.
I still would stress to thank America for giving me the opportunity to work and live and experience America.

filed LC in 2003 thinking it would be useful to stay on H1 as long as possible!! and the rest is on my profile..
I wonder if anybody thinks it makes sense to create a law which simply says after 15 (or some X years) of legal presence in the US you will be given a GC no matter the back ground! In that way we know exactly where the deadline is irrespective of some government agency's whim.

In Jan 2010 DOL will publish their data and that will make thing very clear. I think DOS is assuming around 10 -15 k Spill over visas that can be available to Eb2 India ( based on previous years ) and that is what it take them into Oct - Dec 2005 range. They don't factor in CIS processing time. But I think from pool of 40-50k pre adjudicated apps CIS can easily consume 10k visas. But if there are less labors and more spill over visas ( like 30 -40 k) then be ready for mini version of july fiasco.

I very clearly said that this info was from customer rep and was true for NSC only.
I have called USCIS twice for specific information because i need t0 travel to europe on a business trip in the months of sept/oct and was interested in getting AP.
Information in this forum or any other forum is for sharing purposes. People should take that and do their own due dilligence.
I have been on yahoo finance for the past 8 years and read many posters recommendation about a particular stock. Do you make investment decisions based on those posts?
You need to update your skills about forums and the validity of its contents.
No one can be assertive in their posts and not even the information originator or its source.
So, please refrain from personal attacks.
I know you and buddyinus are doing just that.

I remember that in the early nineties it was next to impossible to get a home loan in India. I think the only company which gave out home loans was HDFC and the interest rate was a whopping 16%. Property prices at that time conformed to what people could actually afford as the house had to be either paid in full or you had to take out a loan from your provident fund.
Fast forward to 2000 and beyond. After the Indian rupee became fully convertible and the banking regulations were relaxed every bank or finance company started to make loans. The upshot of that is that everyone could buy a house and car through taking out loans. This of course created this huge demand for new housing from the middle class which translated into a steep increase in land and property prices.
This may not exactly be a total bubble as loans are there to stay. What is happening though is that home construction is going on at a rapid pace and at some point Indian cities and their suburbs may be overbuilt. At that point you would be stuck with your house and not be able to sell as is happening in the US. Of course some markets will correct but I donot think Bombay, Bangalore or Hyderabad will.
I'm a a total layman regarding such issues and I am just trying to reason this through.
Is is sad. All these NRIs are going to learn a very valuable lesson. Speculation is not a good strategy for investing. A lot learned that in the past few months here in USA. In a year we will be seeing the full blown post bubble correction in India. If one can rent an apartment for 15,000 why would one buy it for 50 lakhs. The interest alone on 50 lakhs is 50,000 every month. It is like buy and rent it and loose money. Instead why don't they deposit in a bank and get 50,000 every month:confused:

My Labor was certified this week from PBEC. My PD is Mar '05. Is Premium filing for I-141 advised?
If you are in EB2, then might as well go for PP for the I-140. Regular at Nebraska is taking 8 months. Given the way dates move erratically, if you get current in the next couple of months (I hope you do, mine is the same PD) you wont have I-140 to worry about, you'll be all set.

Court filing fee in federal civil cases is $350 so the bulk of all expenses is usually attorney's fees.
