Hi,
1. Valid H1-B stamping, expiring in 2010
2. Trying to renewe EAD/AP (Didn't use both until now).
3. Instructions of I-131 has the following statement
If you travel before the advance parole document is issued, your application will be deemed abandoned if:
A. You depart from the United States; or
B. The person seeking advance parole attempts to enter the United States before a decision is made on the application.
My question:
1. Does my applying for renewal of EAD and AP affect my travel?
Thanks.

It wouldn't have quite the resolution of the 20D, but the build quality and speed is undoubtedly somewhat better. If I could afford one today, I'd get one. :D

I am currently in my 6th year of H1-B. I started working for my current company on H1-b work visa in June 2010. As my 6 year visa period expires in June 2011, I need to apply for a H1-b extension (based on I-140 approval) pretty soon. My employer had paid the $1500 ACWIA fee recently i.e. 8 months ago, when they filed for my H1-b the first time. Next month, when they apply for an extension of my H1, do they have to pay the $1500 ACWIA fee again?
In I-129 instructions, it specifies that one of the exemptions for paying the ACWIA fee is "second or subsequent extension...". Would my case be considered a subsequent or second extension?
I would greatly appreciate your response.
Thanks much.

From the LA Times: A forgery-proof worker ID card, secured with biometric data such as fingerprints, is a favored idea of the new chairman of the Senate immigration subcommittee, Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.). Schumer, who will lead the effort to craft the Senates comprehensive immigration reform legislation, has publicly espoused the card as the best way to ensure that all workers are authorized. The ID will make it easy for employers to avoid undocumented workers, which will allow for tough sanctions against employers who break the law, which will lead to no jobs being available for illegal immigrants, which will...

I am initiating this poll to find out priority date segments, as I could not found a poll for priority dates tracking.
I have divided priority dates in eights segments. From the eight segments, I have created three specific segments from Jan 2004 to June 2004, June 2004 to Dec 2004 and Jan 2005 to March 2005. The people in these segments are most likely to get their GC (If USCIS process in FIFO manner) as soon as the backlog with priority dates before 2003 is cleared. The first three months of 2005, Jan to March, when lots of people applied, just before a new PERM labor certification process was introduce. This will help separate the three months from the rest of the year 2005.
Please join me to track priority dates which is the key date for GC approval.
Thank you,
Samir Patel.
